
The development of wind farms leads to the creation of increasingly powerful and modern wind turbines. As a result, electricity generation increases and the capacity factor of installed WEU power rises. This development is happening quite rapidly, for example, the previous record was set in the summer of vice versa, a new record was set in the fall of .
The new record was established by the Chinese turbine Goldwind GWH252-16MW, which was presented in November 2022. The wind energy installation has a rotor diameter of 252 meters and an approximate blade swept area of about 50,000 square meters. The height of the tower is 146 meters. Under calculated operating conditions, one wind turbine unit can produce around 66 million kWh of electricity per year.
In late June 2023, the turbine was successfully installed on an offshore wind farm "Three Gorges" in Fujian Province, China. By mid-July 2023, connection to the electrical grid had been established for power transmission from the generated electricity into the grids.
The record for electricity generation was set during typhoon No. 11 "Hai Qui", when maximum wind speed reached 23.56 meters per second.

The wind energy installation was erected in a location where high-speed winds and typhoons prevail. The site of turbine installation was chosen specifically for this purpose to monitor the operational state and trends of important equipment (such as generators, blades, and bearings) 24 hours a day. Obtaining such a set of data allows for improving existing systems and increasing the safety of using large-capacity turbines.
